Local
animals need your help
|

|
Many people
believe that elderly dogs cannot be re-homed, but we firmly believe
that there is always a good home to be found for the animals in our
care. This is certainly true here on the island where many elderly
people are looking for a loving companion to adopt.
Choco, a 14yr
old Jack Russell, initially came in to us for emergency care whilst
his owner had to go into hospital, but sadly his owner passed away,
and we were asked to re-home him. After some much needed dental
work, and the removal of a wart on his eye, Choco quickly found
himself a new home. |
The
Isle of Wight
branch of the RSPCA provides assistance 365 days a
year to unwanted, abandoned and sick animals. The dedicated
staff and volunteers are involved with a wide range of work including the
running of the animal centre in addition to supporting the local
inspector, providing subsidised neutering and micro chipping, and giving
help towards veterinary costs for
those who find themselves unable to afford this service for their animals.
It costs over £1400 per day to run the
Animal Centre! and we rely on the generosity of the local community to
help us keep the Centre running, and to provide vital services to the island's animals.
There are several ways in which you can
support us:
 | ONE OFF DONATIONS:
These can be sent direct to us at the Animal Centre but if you are a
U.K. tax payer please print
off a Gift Aid Form
to enable us to
reclaim additional funds from H.M.R.C. at no cost to
yourself. |
 | ONGOING
DONATIONS: If you would like to make a regular contribution
then this can easily be done by setting up a standing order with your
bank. Just print off a Standing Order Form and send it to us and we will do the rest. Don't forget to gift aid it! just
fill in the gift aid section of the form and return to the address
shown.

 | LEGACIES: A
Legacy or Bequest will provide crucial funds and we not continue our
work without such generous support. If you wish to make such a bequest
then you can do this by making a will or adding a codicil to your
existing will. We would respectfully suggest that the following form
of words should be used:
|
I give the sum of £....... (or
specify a share of residue) to the RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch
(registered charity number 205311), Bohemia Corner, Godshill, Isle
of Wight, PO38 3NA, for its general purposes and I declare that the
receipt of a proper officer of the said RSPCA branch shall be a full
and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.
Please note that this needs to be
properly witnessed and that you should take legal advice. Gifts of this
nature are generally exempt from inheritance and capital gains taxes and
would therefore greatly benefit local animals with a minimum of burden
to your estate.
