DOG WALKING

The minimum age for volunteer work is 16 but for dog walking you must be 18 and over.

Becoming a dog walker is a very enjoyable way of helping the dogs welfare. Dogs needs daily exercise to help keep them healthy, socialized and stimulated in both mind and body. Regular exercise for the dogs builds muscle tone and helps prevent depression, obesity, joint problems, heart conditions and behavioural issues. It also a great well of keeping healthy & fit yourself.

We really do rely on assistance from responsible, committed adults who are able to turn up regularly come rain or shine.  As a volunteer dog walker, it’s all about the love and time you’ll be able to give a dog in need.  Whatever time you are able to give, you’ll get back plenty when your new four legged friend displays sheer joy and excitement at seeing you when you come to take it for a walk. Ultimately you will be helping to prepare the dog for adoption.

You will need to make sure that you come suitably attired for the role so please wear sensible clothing & footwear and make sure you will be warm or cool enough depending on weather conditions
