The Isle of Wight Branch is an independent Charity operating under the rules and conditions of the nationally recognised RSPCA, as well as complying with the strict guidelines laid down by the Charity Commission.
Although we are affiliated to the national RSPCA, they only offer us limited financial support and our day to day running costs, which are in excess of £1400 per day, come from the local community generally by means of donations, fundraising events, our charity shop sales and legacies.
The branch is governed by a small group of voluntary committee members who are also designated as trustees and are responsible for all aspects of the branch's operations including :
Our Animal Centre at Godshill, our Charity Shops throughout the island, and our Animal Welfare Service which offers financial assistance to pet owners who are on a low income.
We also support the RSPCA Inspectors by looking after their cruelty cases, and any abandoned animals or injured wildlife reported to them by members of the public.
