CAN YOU HELP ?
We are very grateful to members of the public that choose to offer us their valuable time to become a volunteer.
Working with animals can be hard work and they need to be cared for 365 days of the year come rain or shine. You may start the day nice and clean but by the end of it you may be wet, sweaty or muddy. The staff and the animals really do appreciate the assistance of volunteers and working with animals can be very rewarding. Just think you would be helping towards finding loving new homes for our temporary lodgers.
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
The main qualities you need as a volunteer are time, commitment, common sense and reliability. Some of our volunteers have been helping us for 5 years or more.
If you would like to apply to become a volunteer then please give us a call and have a chat. Phone lines are open from 10.00am - 4.00pm Tuesday - Sunday ( we are closed on a Monday) or simply complete an application form and return it to us.
Please note there is a high demand for animal care volunteer work so your details may be held on file until a vacancy becomes available.
If you are unable to offer us your time you can still offer help in other ways.
You may be able to offer assistance by donating food. We are always delighted to receive such donations directly at our re-homing Centre.
Good quality tinned dog food or complete food - a favourite with our dogs is Chappie
Good quality dry, tinned or pouches of kitten, adult & senior food - favourites are Whiskas or Felix - donated tokens from any such foods are welcomed so we can apply for items such as pet blankets, cat nip snacks, scratch posts

Although supplies of food are generously donated on a regular basis it isn't always enough to keep up with demand - a little more will always be gratefully received
