ANIMAL ADOPTION
Adopting one of our
animals is generally a very simple process, but please take time to think
things through very carefully, as what may seem like a good idea can so
easily become a chore.
You must also remember to give your new pet the Five
Freedoms:
A PROPER DIET INCLUDING
ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AT ALL TIMES
SOMEWHERE SUITABLE TO
LIVE
ANY
NEED TO BE HOUSED WITH, OR APART FROM, OTHER ANIMALS
ALLOWING ANIMALS TO EXPRESS
NORMAL BEHAVIOR
PROTECTION FROM PAIN,
SUFFERING, INJURY AND DISEASE
Once you have made up your mind the
next step is easy:-
- Visit the Centre and choose
the animal you would like to adopt, remember our staff are
always on hand to answer your questions and to give you advice on
any particular animal.
- After completing a short questionnaire
we will be able to reserve your pet for you and arrange for a home
check visit to be carried out.
- Don't worry the visit is
only to ensure that you can provide your future pet with all
their needs. Once again our home visitors are fully trained and
can give you advice on you pets requirements.
- Whilst you are waiting for
your home check to take place, which can take up to 14 days at
busy times, you are free to visit the centre as many times as you
like to get to know your new pet.
- Following a satisfactory home
visit you are then free to come along to the centre, and after
completing the adoption papers and paying any adoption fees you
can take your new companion home with you.
